Team Goals

Tom Wagner, a billionaire and founder of Knighthead Capital, has a clear vision for the club. He believes Birmingham is an 'underdog' deserving of significant achievements, as the city often remains overlooked.

“I position the club as a big underestimated, long-sleeping giant that has been ignored for too long,” Wagner noted.

Wagner emphasized the intention to build a 62,000-seat stadium as part of a new project 'Birmingham Sports Quarter' worth £3 billion. It will not only be a football stadium but also a venue for concerts and various events for the women's team.

Expectations and Opportunities

The project has the potential to create 10,000 jobs during construction and another 8,400 by 2035. A new tram line and the renovation of the train station are also planned as part of the £400 million infrastructure investment.

“I acknowledge that the road to success is long, but without a big goal, achieving significant results is difficult. Why not aim for the best?” Wagner added.

This season, the club has an average attendance of around 27,000 spectators, and Wagner noted they are ready to increase the stadium's capacity.

“We sold 50,000 tickets at Wembley last year for our final, so there is demand,” he said.

Investment Reports

Wagner has also invested in Birmingham's cricket and netball teams, aiming to turn the city into a sports metropolis.

“We are striving for success in Birmingham and do not plan to settle for mediocrity,” he emphasized.

Dreams of the Champions League

Wagner sees the potential for major derbies, hoping for a Champions League final against Aston Villa.

“More attention to such rivalries will lead to greater investment. I dream of a Champions League final against Villa,” he concluded.

The Role of Tom Brady

Tom Brady, an NFL legend, is actively involved with the club, adding value to the recruitment process.

“Tom wants to raise the profile of the club, and that is an invaluable help,” Wagner summarized.

Despite the challenges, Wagner is optimistic about the future of Birmingham City and confident in achieving success.
