The businessman received numerous criticisms on social media and was forced to publicly apologize, admitting he made a “huge mistake,” and the video quickly went viral.

The luxurious life of a millionaire

The billionaire lives in a modern villa in a prestigious area of a historic Polish village, which locals refer to as the 'village of millionaires.' Together with his wife Anna and their two sons, aged 10 and 12, they lead a luxurious lifestyle.

Their estate, which features its own lake and tennis court, is valued at over two million zlotys (£406,000), which is approximately ten times the average income in Poland.

The couple is actively involved in tennis and owns the Calisia Tenis Pro club, located 40 miles from their home. They have been spotted numerous times at tournaments. The photos clearly show that they are close with former Polish star Urszula Radwańska, who visits them to play.

Szczyrek's business, Drogbruk, is also a sponsor of the Polish Tennis Association.

Apologies and consequences

In his statement, Szczyrek, nicknamed the 'new CEO of Coldplay kiss-cam,' admitted that emotions got the better of him. He mistakenly believed that the tennis player was gesturing in his direction.

“In connection with the situation that occurred during the match of Kamil Majchrzak at the US Open, I want to clearly apologize to the affected boy, his family, as well as to all fans and the athlete himself. I made a huge mistake.”

He also returned the cap to the boy named Brock.

“In the emotions of the crowd celebrating after the victory, I was convinced that the tennis player had taken the cap in my direction — to my sons, who had previously asked for autographs. This misunderstanding led me to reach out. Today I know that I acted as if I intentionally took a child's souvenir.”

Szczyrek added: “It was not my intention, but that does not change the fact that I harmed the boy and disappointed the fans.”

His company, Drogbruk, faced criticism, and its Google rating dropped to 1.4 stars.

The Trustpilot page also had to be closed “due to media attention.”

Szczyrek noted: “Over the years, my wife and I have engaged in helping children and young athletes, but this situation showed me that one moment of indifference can destroy years of work and support. It hurts me, but it is a necessary lesson in humility.”

He also emphasized: “Once again I apologize to everyone who was disappointed.”

This incident occurred after Polish talent Majchrzak, 29, met the boy and handed him a gift bag. In the photo, both posed together, with the caption: “Hello, world, wishing you all a wonderful day together with Brock!”

Majchrzak commented on the situation: “It was a very pleasant meeting. I wanted to meet the boy Brock and his family to try to mend the situation.”

He urged fans to soften their criticism of Szczyrek, stating that he took the cap “in a moment of emotions”: “I don't want to say anything bad because I know how viral it all became.”

Majchrzak added: “But I believe that he also acted in a moment of emotions, and by the time he realized what happened, it was already too late.”
