Iran Launches Missile and Drone Assault on UAE: The Events of March 7th.
A New Attack Targets the UAE
According to Novyny.live: On March 7, 2023, Iran carried out a missile and drone assault on the United Arab Emirates (UAE), breaking a prior pledge to refrain from striking neighboring nations. The attack involved the launch of 16 ballistic missiles and 121 drones, which ignited a fire in Dubai. This escalation occurs amidst longstanding regional proxy conflicts and power struggles. UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who visited the injured at the Sheikh Shakhbout Medical Centre, stated the country would fortify its stance following the assaults.
In response to these attacks, Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian issued an apology to neighboring countries for the actions taken. Concurrently, former U.S. President Donald Trump noted that Iran's promise not to hit neighboring countries was made due to attacks previously carried out by the United States and Israel.
"The Emirates breed the strong, and their revenge is bitter."
Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan
Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan further added:
This underscores the nation's readiness to defend its citizens and counter external threats."The residents of the UAE are our guests and part of our family."
Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan
This strike against the UAE highlights rising regional tensions, particularly given the historical conflicts between Iran and its neighbors. The UAE president's reaction emphasizes the country's defensive preparedness and commitment to bolstering its security, which could impact regional stability. The apology from Iranian authorities may be an attempt to de-escalate, but the situation remains highly volatile, and subsequent actions could reshape the political landscape of the Middle East.
