Iran wants to receive Russian Su-35 fighters after delivering short-range ballistic missiles to Russia that could be used in the war against Ukraine, according to the Institute for the Study of War.

According to the American ambassador, Iran has already transferred the missiles to the Russian side. European embassies are also expecting new shipments of Iranian-made missiles.

It is known that the agreement between Iran and Russia was signed in December 2023. The specific number of missiles delivered to Russia was not disclosed.

Russia is most likely to use these missiles to attack targets in Ukraine to destabilize society and undermine Ukraine's defense-industrial base, the analysts emphasized.

This missile transfer is part of the strategic partnership between Iran and Russia.

Previously, the Institute for the Study of War reported on the deepening cooperation between Moscow and Tehran since the invasion of Ukraine.

Analysts believe that Iran wants to benefit from the partnership with Russia, particularly in the economic and military spheres. They note that Iran was looking for money for its economy, while Russia was seeking new opportunities to sell weapons. Additionally, Iranian leaders wanted to receive Russia's technical support in modernizing their cyber capabilities and missile and space programs.

Recall that the United States reported the transfer of Iranian missiles to Russia.
