Cocaine was constantly around the former heavyweight champion, and he used it even before his fight in 2000 against Lou Savarese in Scotland.

Tyson also confessed that fentanyl, which is 50 times STRONGER THAN HEROIN, was used during fights for pain relief.

“It was a painkiller, I used it to treat my finger,” he recounted in a podcast with Katie Miller.
“It was like heroin – once it's gone, and you take off the bandage, withdrawal starts, nausea, just like when using heroin.”
“If it was found in my blood, it would be illegal. It was a drug, my friend told me.”

Tyson went through tough times, battling drug and alcohol addiction before deciding to turn his life around.

“I want to change my life,” he shared with The Fight Network. “I want to live differently. I don't want to die. I'm close to death because I'm a brutal alcoholic.”
“I haven't drank or used drugs for six days, and for me, that's a miracle.”
“I was taking a lot of things, but didn't want people to believe I was sober.”
“This is my sixth day. I will never do this again.”

Tyson returned to the ring last November, facing influencer Jake Paul and lost by decision. He plans to step back into the ring early next year in a surprise fight with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Mike Tyson's admission about his struggle with drugs and alcohol shows how difficult recovery can be. His openness may inspire those facing similar issues to seek help. In the boxing world, Tyson will always remain a legend, and his challenging journey only highlights the strength of the human spirit.
