This fight will be the first chance for both boxers at a world title, and Lee's coach believes that 'it will be a hell of a night'. He emphasized that while his victory in Las Vegas was pleasant, the nightlife in Belfast might be less active.

“There is no nightlife — when you win, you just go to sleep,” he said. “This time, maybe we will celebrate if we win. I don't count my chickens, but we might drink a few bottles of champagne.”

Background to the Rematch

The first match ended in a technical victory for Croker when Donovan was disqualified for a punch after the bell. After the fight, it became clear that a rematch was inevitable. Leaving the title, IBF champion Jaron Ennis highlighted the historic nature of that night.

In Donovan's camp, they believe that if the fight goes as the first one did, they will have reason to celebrate.

“For us, it's to be ready for anything and expect everything,” Lee noted during an interview on the Rocky Road podcast. “I think Croker will probably try to do the same thing as last time, but maybe improve it.”

Attitude Towards Croker's Style

Lee believes Croker will fight in his usual style but will try to enhance it. The coach himself experienced a rematch, returning after 3.5 years from his first loss, but noted that there is a certain difference between his experience and Donovan's situation.

Lee noted that both boxers are physically prepared, but Croker has issues with weight cutting, which may affect his performance.

“Croker definitely has some decline in his performance due to the weight cut,” he added.

The Tone of the First Fight

In the first match, it was expected that Croker, being older and more experienced, would be able to impose his game, but Donovan set the pace from the very beginning, showing better physical conditioning. At the time of the disqualification, two judges had Donovan ahead by six points, while the third had him ahead by two points.

“This went from the lowest point for Paddy to something really worth noticing,” Lee emphasized. “This is an obvious fight for the organization.”

All eyes are on the upcoming fight as it will not only determine the champion but also become a historic moment for Irish boxing. Among fans and experts, there is already a feeling of anticipation that simply cannot be ignored.
