British man wins thousands of pounds in contests: his secret to avoiding gambling.
Robert Bon's Winning Approach
According to The Sun: Rob Bon never misses an opportunity to participate in contests for a chance to win valuable prizes.
The 29-year-old resident of Uxbridge notes that as soon as he sees a contest, he immediately leaves his email address, subscribes to newsletters, or scans a QR code.
Rob Bon won 13 prizes this year, including free perfumes, food, and cocktails Last year, Rob won tickets to the final of 'Mamma Mia: I Have a Dream'
Rob also won 20,000 Virgin Experience points, which he spent on canoeing trips
Some may call it madness, but thanks to this approach, Rob has won 13 times this year, including free tickets to shows, drinks, and perfumes.
Last year, he won seven prizes, including a shopping excursion and front row tickets to the final of the show 'Mamma Mia: I Have a Dream' on ITV.
“I often see QR codes when I’m on the bus, spot surveys in magazines, or receive posts on Instagram. Every day I find at least one contest and I never miss any,” says the social media manager.
“I always have a positive mindset and believe I can win, so I enter my email and wait,” he adds.
Rob is so actively participating in contests that he often forgets which ones he entered until he gets a win notification.
“I probably enter two contests a day, which adds up to about 700 a year,” he recounts.
Every contest Rob has won has been free, and he has managed to win thousands of pounds a year.
Robert's Successes
Rob started entering contests in childhood, but took it more seriously during his university studies. “When I went to university, I realized that money would be tight, and little joys in life would be fewer. So if I can get them for free, life becomes a bit more cheerful,” he states.
Rob believes that his success is due to his positive attitude, which helped him win a £1,000 shopping excursion at the luxury store Harvey Nichols.
“I went out for a long day of shopping and had tons of bags,” remembers Rob.
“But when I walked into Superdrug, I stumbled across a contest stand organized by L’Oreal and Emily in Paris. All I had to do was scan a QR code and register.”
Rob also recalls that his top prize is a £1,000 Love2shop voucher, which he won by simply tagging a friend on Instagram.
Among his favorite prizes are also unusual ones, such as a signed Christmas card from singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
To increase his chances of winning, Rob avoids participating in Instagram contests with over a hundred comments, and keeps an eye on local contests on Facebook with fewer participants.
“Many people don’t believe the prizes are real or that the contest actually exists,” he emphasizes.
Tips for Winning
Rob recommends joining Facebook groups dedicated to contests to be able to verify the authenticity of received letters.
“I often see people asking in these groups if what they received is legitimate,” he shares.
Users can also share contest links in these groups, making them a good place to start.
Interesting sites like Loquax and The Prize Finder, which provide information about real contests, can also be useful.
However, Rob advises not to enter contests just for the sake of winning, but only those that are genuinely interesting.
