Israel is taking measures to strengthen its defense in light of increased risk of attacks from Iran and its allies. This was reported by Bloomberg.

Mayors of Israeli cities have prepared battery-powered sirens, rescuers have received satellite phones, and old-fashioned transistor radios may become an important means of communication during the evacuation of the population to shelters. It is also important to ensure an uninterrupted power supply.

Israel is preparing for possible worst-case scenarios. Stocks of alternative fuel for power plants have been created in case of supply disruptions.

After the HAMAS attack on Israel on October 7, we built defensive structures at our power plants.

A short-term power outage can significantly complicate informing the population about current events. Therefore, authorities have installed backup diesel generators and lithium batteries on more than half of the cell towers in northern Israel, including the city of Haifa. In Tel Aviv, dozens of towers have also been connected to generators located at enterprises and municipal facilities.

Marine gas rigs are also under threat of attacks. Decisions to halt drilling rigs in the event of a full-scale conflict in northern Israel will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Given the growing tension in relations with Iran, Israeli authorities consider such measures justified.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that negotiations between Israel and HAMAS, which may stop active hostilities, are at the final stage.

Iran might refrain from a massive attack on Israel in response to the death of HAMAS political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. However, Iranian authorities, Lebanese Hezbollah, and HAMAS have assured their readiness to respond to Israeli attacks.
