Ex-Manchester City goalkeeper lost £10 million: how the star footballer ended up on social assistance.
The failed spending of the former Manchester City player
According to The Sun: Former Manchester City goalkeeper Eike Immel shared how he spent £10 million and ended up in social housing on assistance. The German goalkeeper spent two years at the club, playing 50 matches in the Premier League and the former First Division.
Immel also represented the West German national team, earning 19 caps, participating in five major tournaments, and winning the Bundesliga.
“I spent money on everything that could be imagined and realized that after all, I was left with nothing,” recalled Immel.
This situation clearly demonstrates how even successful athletes can find themselves in difficult life circumstances. Uncontrolled spending often leads to financial difficulties, requiring attention from those who wish to preserve their assets after their careers end. Immel's story serves as an important lesson for young athletes about smart financial management.
