The 38-year-old Vardy ended his 13-year stint at Leicester to try his luck in Serie A. Feyenoord coach, Robin van Persie, attempted to convince the player to move to the Netherlands, promising him Champions League football, but Vardy chose Cremonese.
Cremonese, a newly-promoted team in Serie A, signed Vardy to a one-year deal with an option to extend if the team avoids relegation.
