According to The Sun: Actress Joanna Page, known for her role in the series 'Gavin & Stacey', shared a horrifying story about how she was kidnapped by a taxi driver who threatened to 'strip her of all her belongings.'

According to her, the driver held her hostage for 90 minutes and threatened to take photographs of her without clothes.

The 'Gavin & Stacey' star shared how she managed to keep the conversation going during the ride before the driver returned her to the hotel. PA

Page, who is 48 years old, recalled:

'I just remember thinking, 'Oh my God,' you know how you usually find yourself in dangerous situations but think you can get out of them easily.'

'But this was the only situation in my life where I thought, 'you're in trouble. This is serious. You won't be able to get out of this. I don't know what to do.'

She noted that she tried to make conversation with the driver during the ride, and he eventually returned her to the hotel.

Page also shared:

'I ran out of the car and ran straight to the reception. I was in such a state that I told them everything that happened.'

'They said: 'You were extremely lucky. Just never do anything like that again.'

This incident occurred in South Africa in 2004 during the filming of the BBC period drama 'To the Ends of the Earth'. Interestingly, her co-star Benedict Cumberbatch also fell victim to an attempted kidnapping a few weeks later.
