Bugner's Career
He faced Muhammad Ali in the ring twice: first in 1973 in Las Vegas, and again in 1975 in a 15-round bout in Kuala Lumpur for the WBA, WBC, and Ring titles in heavyweight.
However, both bouts ended in defeats for Bugner by decision.
Just months after his first meeting with Ali, he also lost to Joe Frazier in a match in London.
Yet in 1971, the Hungarian-born fighter, representing Great Britain and Australia, defeated Henry Cooper on points and became the champion of Great Britain, Europe, and the Commonwealth.
Two months later, he successfully defended his European title against Jurgen Blin, but in September lost all his titles to Jack Bodell.
