Over his 15-year television career, Joey has become a recognizable face, attracting viewers with his simplicity and cheerful nature.

Although his television career started at a fish market, Joey feels that he is not entirely understood.

Boxing as a new opportunity

Joey's debut in boxing this Saturday will be a great opportunity to show that the 35-year-old Essex has more to offer than what television depicts.

“This is the perfect opportunity for me to show my serious side. I'm not just a fool on television. When I step into the ring, you won’t call me an idiot.”

Joey will be a new participant in Misfits Boxing, a platform founded by blogger KSI to organize fights between celebrities, OnlyFans stars, and boxers from various disciplines.

Family boxing

Although Joey is known as a television star, he also has boxing roots. His father Don was an amateur, and his uncle Tony Sims is a well-known trainer who prepared fighters like Anthony Joshua.

“My father was a very good boxer. He always sparred with Tony, and that’s where our family met.”

Joey spoke about the struggles of his childhood related to the loss of his mother:

“We lost a loved one, and I quickly realized that I needed to be strong. Everyone in our family was a boxer, so I had to adapt.”

Despite all the difficulties, Joey showed character by finishing school and paving the way for his television achievements. Now he hopes that boxing will help him show his true talent.
