Donbas Is Not Russia’s Final Target, Says EU’s Kaja Kallas: Concessions Will Only Fuel Aggression.
European Leaders Speak Out on Russian Aggression
According to UATV: Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, has stated that Moscow’s ambitions extend well beyond the Donbas region. In an interview published by RBC-Ukraine, she stressed that any territorial concessions by Ukraine would only embolden further Russian aggression. Kallas argued that peace cannot be achieved through land giveaways, but only through decisive international action against the aggressor.
She also pointed out that Russia has failed to capture the Donbas in 12 years, highlighting the Kremlin’s inability to reach its military objectives.
“The Donbas is not the final goal — if Russia gets it so easily,” Kallas remarked.
Growing Alarm Across Europe
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna joined the discussion, warning that
“The cooperation of Hungary and Slovakia with Russia undermines Europe’s security.”His comments reflect deepening European concerns over Russian aggression and the urgent need for unified action to ensure regional stability.
The statements from Kaja Kallas and Margus Tsahkna underscore the critical importance of European unity in responding to Russia’s actions. The EU’s firm stance against territorial concessions for Ukraine signals a commitment to uphold the country’s sovereignty and counter further Russian expansion. As tensions escalate in the region, the international community faces the challenge of developing effective mechanisms to secure peace and stability. In this context, the remarks from European leaders reflect not only political but also strategic interests across the continent in pushing back against aggression.
