Russia’s Oil Infrastructure Hit Hard, NATO Chief Acknowledges Ukraine’s Strikes.
Assessing the Impact of Ukraine’s Operations
According to UATV: NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has praised the effectiveness of Ukraine’s attacks on Russian oil facilities, stating that these actions have significantly hampered Moscow’s capabilities. He made these remarks during a discussion at the Atlantic Council, held just ahead of the upcoming NATO summit scheduled in Turkey.
Rutte emphasized that production at Russian oil refineries has dropped by one-third, highlighting a clear success for Ukrainian forces in this area. The NATO chief also noted that
“Ukraine is performing exceptionally well”, underscoring the effectiveness of Kyiv’s resistance against the aggressor. He added that Ukraine’s primary challenge remains protecting its own infrastructure from renewed strikes involving Russian ballistic missiles and drones.
Continued Support for Ukraine
In his speech, Rutte stressed the importance of sustained allied support for Ukraine, stating that
“continuing military aid to Ukraine remains a key condition for strengthening its defense capabilities”. He also indicated that NATO plans to significantly ramp up production of all types of weapons to ensure effective backing for allies and bolster their security amid rising threats.
Rutte’s comments highlight the critical role of international support in countering Russia, especially as the situation on the front lines evolves. The drop in Russian oil output could have major economic repercussions for the aggressor nation and may also weaken its military potential. At the same time, robust assistance from NATO and other allies could prove decisive as Ukraine continues its fight for independence and territorial integrity.
