The Cabinet considered the needs of men and women in the army: what will change.
The government approved innovations to ensure gender equality in the army
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved new measures aimed at ensuring equal conditions for women and men in the military sphere. This was announced by the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnichuk.
According to Melnichuk's report, today the procedure for material, medical, psychological, and social support of military personnel, particularly women and men, was approved according to paragraph 4 of article 9-1 of the Law of Ukraine "On social and legal protection of military personnel and members of their families".
According to the new procedure, military personnel are prohibited from discrimination in material, medical, psychological, and social support. Principles for providing military personnel with personal hygiene and individual protection means according to their anthropometric data have been established.
There are also provisions for psychological support and assistance to military personnel who have experienced stressful situations or become victims of sexual harassment.
Additionally, female military personnel are given the opportunity to undergo gynecological and mammological examination and treatment, while male military personnel receive mammological and urological examination and treatment.
It is important to note that Ukrainian women should prepare for defense, even if they are not subject to mandatory military service. This was stated by the head of the Council of Reservists of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ivan Tymochko. Tymochko believes that the more Ukrainians are ready for defense, unity in their actions and the ability to communicate between groups regardless of gender or profession, the less Russia will strive for military conflict.
