EU’s Top Diplomat Speaks Out on Ukraine Conflict

According to UATV: On March 16 in Brussels, Kaja Kallas—the European Union’s High Representative—stated that Russia is not prepared for talks to resolve the war in Ukraine. According to her, Moscow is showing no interest in dialogue and is instead escalating military strikes on Ukrainian territory. In response, Kallas stressed the need for the EU to ramp up pressure on Russia.

Key Actions to Back Ukraine

A central measure under consideration is the extension of sanctions against Russia. Their current term is set to be prolonged until September 15, 2026. As Kallas put it,

“It is crucial to intensify pressure by imposing a price cap on oil,”
