Large fees in Naftogaz and Ukrenergo: where millions disappear.
According to inkorr.com: Discussions about transparency in the management of Ukrainian energy companies are back on the agenda due to the significant fees of the supervisory board members of Naftogaz and Ukrenergo. These supervisory boards are starting to resemble a 'bottomless box' where large financial resources are spent without proper control, with the main goal being only the formal approval of documents.
Consequences of Inefficiency
The losses of Naftogaz in 2020 and the failure of the '20/20' program indicate that the rewards in the supervisory boards were not justified by real results and only supported a system of large expenses without proper financial justification. The silence of anti-corruption activists on these issues confirms the prolonged irresponsibility in the energy sector, which has catastrophic consequences for state-owned companies.
The situation in the energy sector requires urgent changes. Without the implementation of effective control and fair distribution of resources, Ukrainian companies may face even greater challenges in the future. To improve the situation, not only motivated managers are needed, but also real oversight over the use of budgetary funds.
