Public Transport Fares

According to Novyny.live: Starting June 1, 2026, Kyiv residents will see no changes in public transport fares or major utility rates. On that date, a ride on municipal public transport will cost 8 hryvnias, while minibus fares will remain at 20 hryvnias. However, a new fare of 30 hryvnias is scheduled to take effect on July 15, 2026. Until July 14, 2026, Kyiv residents can still purchase trips at the old rate.

Utility Rates

For utilities, electricity tariffs will stay fixed at 4.32 hryvnias per kWh, with a nighttime rate of 2.16 hryvnias per kWh for dual-zone meters. These electricity prices will remain unchanged until October 31, 2026. Additionally, the price of natural gas will hold steady at 7.96 hryvnias per cubic meter.

Water supply tariffs in Kyiv are approximately 16.16 hryvnias per cubic meter, while wastewater services cost about 14.22 hryvnias per cubic meter. This means that from June 1, 2026, Kyiv residents can expect stable pricing for essential utilities and public transit.

The decision to keep transport fares and utility bills unchanged until mid-2026 signals the city government’s commitment to maintaining social stability in the capital. However, the planned fare hike to 30 hryvnias starting July 15 may raise concerns among locals, as such a significant increase could strain household budgets. Stable utility costs are also crucial for residents, allowing them to plan their spending on basic needs without unexpected fluctuations.
