China Supplies Russia with Drone Components Worth $60 Million: Investigation Details.
According to inkorr.com: China supplies Russia with components for drones worth over $60 million. Over the past two years, Chinese suppliers have provided Russian manufacturers with numerous details for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles, and this process has proceeded significantly faster than assembling a constructor. This information has been published in the magazine 'Wave' based on a report from The Telegraph.
Investigation Findings
According to investigation data, in 2023-2024, Chinese companies provided Russian enterprises with components and materials worth approximately £47 million. Particularly active in these supplies were manufacturers who were subjected to international sanctions due to their involvement in the production of Iranian 'Shahed' drones.
The study indicated that companies from the Alabuga zone received various materials from China for the production of drones: aircraft engines, semiconductors, metal alloys, optical lenses, and more.
Involvement of Chinese Companies
More than 90 Chinese companies participated in this process, supplying various components for drone manufacturing, including critical elements such as fiberglass and aircraft engines. Some of these companies have also been subject to Ukrainian sanctions due to their cooperation with Russia.
Consequences of Cooperation
The cooperation between China and Russia in drone manufacturing has allowed Russian enterprises to obtain necessary components and raw materials that were critically important during import bans. This opens new opportunities for further cooperation between the countries in the field of drone production and other technological solutions.
This situation highlights the strengthening economic ties between China and Russia, which are occurring against the backdrop of international sanctions. Drone production is becoming increasingly important for both countries, and the intensification of Chinese supplies may indicate new prospects for military and technological cooperation. Such trends may influence the global geopolitical situation, particularly in terms of relationships in Eastern Europe and Asia.
