China Will Use Force Against Taiwan: What the Official Spokesperson Said.
According to inkorr.com: China has expressed its readiness for 'peaceful reunification' with Taiwan, but has clearly warned against any attempts by the island to declare independence. Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of China, emphasized that China is documentarily prepared to do everything possible to achieve a peaceful consensus, but will not tolerate separatism from Taiwan.
'We are ready to create a broad space for peaceful reunification, to show maximum sincerity and to make every effort for the peaceful reunification of Taiwan with mainland China,' Zhu Fenglian stated. However, immediately after these words, she sharply changed her tone: 'At the same time, we will leave no room for separatist activities of advocates for the so-called independence of Taiwan.'
The Situation in Taiwan
Taiwan has its own government, army, currency, and democratic system of governance, however, China considers it a 'rebel province' and does not rule out the possibility of using military force to regain control. Recently, the People's Republic of China has intensified its military and political pressure on Taiwan, regularly conducting large-scale exercises near the island.
The Position of the USA
The USA is Taiwan's main foreign partner, supplying it with weapons for self-defense in case of a threat from China. However, some experts in Taiwan express concern about the position of President Trump's administration, believing that he may offer some concessions to Beijing at the expense of Taipei in exchange for a favorable trade deal with China.
Ukrainians are closely following events in Taiwan and pay great attention to the relations between the island and China. We hope for the preservation of peace and stability in the region, as well as for resolving disputes through open dialogue and negotiations.
