Klychko spoke about possible changes in the cost of travel in Kyiv

According to inkorr.com: Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klychko informed residents of the capital about a potential increase in the cost of travel on public transport. He published this information on his Telegram channel.

According to Klychko, the operation of Kyiv's public transport requires significant expenses—approximately 11 billion hryvnias annually. These financial resources are allocated from the city budget to cover the difference between the current tariffs and the actual cost of services.

'These are funds from the Kyiv budget. And in a situation where funds for Ukrzaliznytsia are being taken away in the capital, there will not be enough money for the planned subsidy from the capital,' Klychko emphasized.

In addition, the mayor noted that another billion hryvnias from the city budget goes to finance free transportation for privileged categories, for which no compensation comes from the state. In this regard, the Department of Finance is considering the possibility of reviewing tariffs for transport services.

The city administration is working on finding additional sources of funding to avoid increasing prices for travel in Kyiv. Klychko assured that until the end of the war, transport tariffs in the city will remain unchanged.

Given the prolonged compensation of the difference between the cost of services and the current tariffs, the city authorities are considering the possibility of raising prices for travel in Kyiv. They are currently actively searching for new funding sources to support public transport to avoid raising tariffs and ensure stability for the residents of the capital.
