KLM cancels flights to the Middle East due to war in Iran: when they will be resumed.
KLM's Suspension of Flights to Middle Eastern Countries
According to Novyny.live: The airline KLM has announced the suspension of flights to the Middle East due to the war in Iran. According to the company's information, flights to Dubai will not resume until August 2, while flights to Riyadh and Dammam are suspended until July 12. All these decisions were made in light of the current situation in the region.
KLM suspended these routes on March 1, and currently there are no plans for their restoration at least until the beginning of July. In April, the company also canceled over 150 flights across Europe, indicating the impact of rising fuel costs on its operations. Additionally, in May, 296 flights were canceled from British airports, which accounts for 0.75% of the total number of scheduled flights.
Impact on Travelers
Thus, KLM currently does not plan to resume flights to the Middle East, which may have a significant impact on travelers with plans to travel to this region. Dubai International Airport (DXB) intends to close its doors by 2035, which may also affect the future of air travel in this direction.
The suspension of KLM flights to Middle Eastern countries reflects the general trend of the aviation industry responding to instability in conflict regions, which can significantly impact travel volumes and tourist flow to these countries. At the same time, rising fuel costs also contribute to flight cancellations, indicating the economic challenges faced by airlines. This may lead to further changes in air services and travelers' plans in the near future.
