Palmer's post received a lot of likes after Mainoo was not included in the England squadRyan Pierse/Getty ImagesIn one of the photos, he is shown in a thoughtful pose.
Two of them show him training alone, and the fourth shows him working out in the gym, which emphasizes his efforts.
Interestingly, the fifth photo features the character of Miles Teller from the movie 'Whiplash', hitting the drums with his bare fist. This film chronicles the career of a talented musician who cannot satisfy his mentor.
Palmer, 23, quickly reacted to the post, writing:
“3 my boy”and adding a red heart, which some interpret as a desire to 'free him [from Manchester United]'.
Palmer's comment gathered over 10,000 likes in the first six hours, and many believe that the Chelsea star wants his national teammate to leave the club.
Other Manchester United players, Leni Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee, also supported Mainoo in the comments, using a GIF of his celebration and an anime character Goku regenerating in tanks.
Mainoo has barely played for Manchester United this season, and he was not in the squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.
The unfortunate midfielder has expressed his intention to seek a loan but was rejected; he needs to stay and fight for his place under Ruben Amorim.
Mainoo has been a substitute in Premier League matches against Arsenal and Fulham, and he played 45 minutes in Manchester United's only victory this season against Burnley.
Hopefully, his hard work will be rewarded with a start when the 'Red Devils' face Manchester City at the Etihad on September 14 after the international break.
Clearly, the situation with Mainoo has drawn interest among fans, as his future at the club remains uncertain. It remains to be seen whether he can seize the opportunity and prove his worth in the upcoming matches.
Furthermore, Palmer's reaction highlights the warm relationships between players who play for different clubs but represent the national team together.
