Detention of the former head of the forestry department
According to Novyny.live: The former head of the Southern Interregional Department of Forestry and Game Management has been detained on suspicion of corruption. He has been assigned a bail of 16 million hryvnias in connection with the extortion of a bribe amounting to 25 thousand US dollars. According to information, the official promised to facilitate the acquisition of 13 thousand hectares of hunting lands in Odesa region.
The court determined the bail amount at 16,000,000 hryvnias, however, the money for this bail has not yet been paid. The detention of the former forestry official has caused significant public resonance, as corruption schemes in the forestry sector remain one of the biggest problems in Ukraine. The case is still under investigation, and further details of the possible proceedings have not yet been disclosed.
