According to ТСН: The head of the Military Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanow, believes that the recent violations of NATO airspace and maritime borders indicate a systematic preparation by Russia for an aggression timeline.

In an interview, Budanow explained the reasons for such actions and the possible risks for certain countries.

This is no accident, but a system

Budanow recalled incidents that occurred in the fall, particularly the incident involving a Russian ship in the territorial waters of Estonia.

"There was a time when it was quiet, no one was found, as one says, and then it just continued... They [provocations — Ed.] are systemic," emphasized the intelligence officer.

In his opinion, these actions pursue two goals:

  1. Psychological Pressure: Stirring up the situation within partner countries.

  2. Military Test: Testing NATO's actual readiness to respond to threats.

"We haven't even said: The Russian Federation will not abandon the ideas of open access to certain countries," Budanow stressed.

Who is under fire

When asked whether “open access” is a real plan, Budanow answered affirmatively. He noted that the task of Russian intelligence and the military is to prepare the ground while the political decision is made at the last moment.

The main obstacle for the Kremlin at the moment is the unfinished invasion of Ukraine.

"But first you need to finish here," he noted.

Regarding potential casualties from new aggressions, the head of the intelligence gave a clear answer:

"Look at the world map, and you will find the answer. First, the Baltic States. It has come to this geographically," summarized Kyrylo Budanow.

He also expressed a grim forecast regarding the missile and drone attacks by Russia, noting that Russian production of missiles and drones has reached the highest level of industrial capacity.

It is important to understand that Budanow's statements underline the relevance of threats from Russia, especially for countries that share borders with it. Moscow's aggressive policy requires vigilance and coordinated action from the international community to prevent an escalation of the conflict in the region. The danger Budanow speaks of affects not only Ukraine but also the security of the entire European continent.
