Cristiano Ronaldo breaks the record for wins with the national team.
Cristiano Ronaldo, a player for the Portugal national team, set a new record for the most wins with the national team. This happened in the fifth round of the Nations League 2024/25 against Poland.
In the A1 group match, Portugal, which had already secured its place in the Nations League playoffs, faced Poland, which had one win and was in third place in the group but still had a chance to advance to the quarterfinals. In this match, Cristiano matched Sergio Ramos' achievement, who had 131 wins with the Spanish national team.
The first half ended goalless, but the second half brought six goals. Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals, including one goal from behind, as well as goals from Rafael Leão, Bruno Fernandes, and Pedro Neto. Poland was only able to respond with one goal, so Portugal defeated their opponents with a score of 5:1.
Let us remind you that on Saturday, November 16, the Ukrainian national team will play its fifth match in group B1 of the Nations League 2024/2025 against Georgia.
