«Kryvbas» demands that UEFA replace the referee for the match against «Betis», who officiated the match of the Russian national team in Moscow.
FC "Kryvbas" appealed to UEFA to replace the referee
The football club "Kryvbas" appealed to UEFA to replace the Turkish referee Arda Kardeshler for the Conference League playoff match against "Betis" (Spain), which will take place on Thursday, August 22, in Kosice (Slovakia).
The club learned that this referee, on 21.03.2024, officiated a friendly match between Russia and Serbia, which took place in Moscow, Russia. For us, it is unacceptable to involve Arda Kardeshler in officiating a match with our club. Such refereeing discredits our club in front of the fans, among whom there are many military personnel who are currently defending our country from Russian attacks, as well as in front of all Ukraine, which suffers from Russian military aggression," the statement by "Kryvbas" reads.
FC "Kryvbas" also informed the Ukrainian Football Association and the UAF Referee Committee about this situation.
Recall that Madrid "Real" defeated Italian "Atalanta" and became the UEFA Super Cup champion for the sixth time in 2024.
