Ukrainian butter prices are dropping again: producers are operating at a loss.
Situation in the butter market in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, the producers who can stably sell their products are mainly those who are ready to significantly lower prices, as Infagro reports. Typically, these are companies facing a lack of working capital. However, the current price level is unprofitable for many producers, especially in the segment of butter, dry skim milk, and casein.
After active summer exports, the warehouses of enterprises began to fill up, and the sale of products within the country is becoming increasingly difficult.
The rise in raw material prices complicates production: purchase prices for milk necessary for breakeven remain inaccessible for most enterprises. At the end of October, a significant drop in block butter prices was recorded. Although producers of packaged products have certain advantages, competition in this segment is increasing. To increase sales volumes, companies are forced to conduct promotions, which negatively affects their profitability.
Deterioration of production conditions
The Ukrainian butter market finds itself in a difficult situation due to overcrowded warehouses, poor production conditions, and declining profitability for most producers. The pricing situation forces companies to lower prices, which negatively impacts their profitability and competitiveness.
This situation in the butter market indicates serious challenges faced by Ukrainian producers. The need to lower prices amid rising raw material costs creates additional difficulties, and consumers can expect further changes in pricing. The response of enterprises to these challenges will determine their future competitiveness in this segment.
