The hryvnia exchange rate against the dollar may fall to 46 hryvnias: when to expect changes.
According to inkorr.com: Ukrainian businessmen are preparing for a possible fall in the hryvnia exchange rate in 2026. According to information from the European Business Association, the average hryvnia exchange rate against the dollar could reach 46 hryvnias due to a complex situation resembling a state of war.
Forecasts for the hryvnia exchange rate
The dynamics of business expectations are deteriorating: while the forecast for 2024 was 41 hryvnias per dollar, in 2025 this figure has risen to 44 hryvnias. Currently, the exchange rate has already exceeded these forecasts and stands at 41.35 UAH per dollar.
Despite currency difficulties, entrepreneurs are showing optimism. Most of them hope for an improvement in the situation in 2026, noting an increase in financial indicators and investment activity.
Requirements from the government
A survey of 80 company executives who are members of the European Business Association revealed that, in addition to recognizing the problems of corruption and the need for judicial reform, 36% of respondents consider it critically important for Ukraine to fulfill its obligations to gain candidate status for EU membership.
Ukrainian entrepreneurs predict a weakening of the hryvnia next year due to the unstable situation caused by the war. Despite this, they remain optimistic about further business development in 2026. The survey also indicates that for many entrepreneurs the implementation of Ukraine's obligations for obtaining EU candidate status is important.
This news reflects disappointing forecasts regarding the hryvnia exchange rate, however, Ukrainian businessmen remain optimistic. They hope for an improvement in the situation in 2026, despite the difficulties related to the war and economic instability. The implementation of Ukraine's strategic commitments for European integration remains important, which could positively impact the business environment in the country.Read also
