The government has approved the dollar rate for 2026: what will the exchange rate be.
Dollar Rate Forecast in the 2026 Budget
According to inkorr.com: According to Economic Truth, deputies supported the first reading of the budget for 2026, in which the Ministry of Finance set the dollar rate at 45.7 UAH. However, such forecasts are rarely fulfilled, as this year the currency is trading within 41.5-42 UAH per dollar. This discrepancy in forecasts complicates budget calculations, although it currently does not significantly affect their implementation.
Stabilization of Euro and Expert Predictions
The National Bank of Ukraine notes that despite the planned dollar rate, which is higher than the real one, the euro rate is currently close to the calculated one. Since Ukraine's main trade is with the European Union, the currency factor becomes not critical for budget revenues. It is expected that the rate will remain stable considering seasonal fluctuations, and its fluctuations may be within 41.5-42 UAH.
Banking experts believe that the weakening of the hryvnia by the end of the year will not exceed 3%, predicting a rate around 43 UAH. However, there are surveys about a possible weakening of the national currency to the level of 42-42.5 UAH per dollar, depending on the decisions of the NBU and the IMF.
Therefore, the news indicates the forecasted currency rates for the near future. Although the planned dollar rate exceeds the real one, the euro rate remains stable. Banking specialists make their own forecasts, emphasizing the possibility of some weakening of the hryvnia by the end of the year. Time will tell how the situation will develop and what impact the currency rates will have on the economy of the country.
