The Ukrainian Armed Forces' Kursk Operation Showed that Russia is Ready to Sacrifice Its Territories - Expert.
The actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region not only placed Russia in a difficult position, but also showed that Russia is ready to sacrifice its territories and citizens.
This was stated by Denis Kuzmin, an expert at the Center for International Studies of the I. I. Mechnikov Odessa National University, in an interview with the FREEДOM TV channel.
With the operation in the Kursk region, Ukraine truly demonstrated its strong side. Our strong side lies in unexpected, creative solutions, which were quite rightly concealed even from Ukrainian allies. In turn, Russia and the Russian authorities demonstrated not only to the world but also to their own citizens that they are ready to sacrifice part of their territories
According to him, Russia showed a completely different attitude towards the local population, which was unexpected.
Some people were evacuated, while others were completely abandoned. That is, a completely different attitude was shown towards both the local population and the territory currently under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Kuzmin also noted that even Russian propaganda does not try to present the presence of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region as an occupation with civilian casualties, since the difference between the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Russian army in other territories is obvious to everyone. Therefore, worthy partners support Ukraine.
It is very symbolic that NATO and the European Union, as official institutions, have approved the Kursk operation on behalf of all allies. And the countries of Eastern Europe, the Baltics in particular, have always supported and continue to support all active initiatives of Ukraine. It can be said with confidence that the Kursk operation has puzzled not only the Russian authorities but also Ukraine's allies, many of whom did not expect such original actions from the Ukrainian Armed Forces
