Kuyun explained how real the threat of stopping diesel supplies to Ukraine is.
According to inkorr.com: Director of the consulting group A95 Serhiy Kuyun believes that Ukraine is not threatened by losing access to sunlight, even if diesel supplies from Slovakia stop. He assures that finding new suppliers will not be difficult, as the market is saturated with fuel and competition is fierce.
'We receive only 10% of our monthly diesel supply from Slovakia. We have all the possibilities to replace this volume with other sources. There is plenty of fuel in the market, and everyone is trying to attract buyers. Slovakia may 'lose' us, but we are paying a very good price,' the expert explained.
Possible consequences of stopping diesel supplies
Kuyun also noted that if Slovakia stops supplying diesel, it may create difficulties in finding new buyers for the oil refining industry. The country can increase oil supplies from other sources, but will lose financial advantages in the form of discounts from Russia.
'The profit from this discount will disappear – and we will lose as buyers. That is, no one will be able to sell this fuel under favorable conditions,' the expert emphasized.
In Kuyun's opinion, Ukraine has a chance to find alternative sources of diesel supply in the event of a halt in shipments from Slovakia. As a buyer in this segment, the country will be able to easily compensate for this volume from other sources, although it is necessary to consider the likely complications in finding the best conditions when changing suppliers.
Thus, the situation with diesel supplies from Slovakia may have its consequences for the market, but experts are confident that the Ukrainian economy will be able to adapt to the changes. It is important to find new sources and favorable conditions to maintain stability in this area.
