The coach of the Ukrainian national boxing team announced his departure
Dmytro Sosnovsky, the head coach of the Ukrainian Olympic boxing team, has announced his departure from the team, according to 'Sport 24'.
Sosnovsky is the most successful coach in Ukrainian boxing. He has proven his competence in both amateur and professional boxing.
'My contract expires on December 31st of this year and I will no longer be the head coach of the national team. I feel like the Time has come. There are many young and promising coaches who can take on this role. I have already completed my work,' explained Sosnovsky.
The coach also stated that he had an agreement with the federation leadership. He was supposed to work until the end of the 2024 Olympic Games, but did not plan to sign a new contract.
'Goals were set. Including, I had high hopes for a gold medal for our country. That was my task, and I fulfilled it,' said Sosnovsky referring to the Olympic success of Oleksandr Khyzhniak in Paris.
'The work of the head coach of the national team requires a lot of effort, health, and a great desire. It is a very difficult job,' explained the coach. 'And I am getting old, it is difficult for me to travel, fly, and work.'
It is worth noting that on September 17, 25-year-old boxer and member of the Ukrainian national team Arkadiy Kartsan passed away.
