According to The Sun: The legendary horse named Haru Urara, who did not win a single race in 113 starts during her career, passed away at the age of 29 surrounded by loved ones.
Haru Urara became a true phenomenon in Japan and a symbol of resilience due to her stubbornness.
The 29-year-old mare had fans all over the world and was a national symbol of determination and hope.Despite having no victories in her eight years of career, she captured the hearts of many fans who are now mourning her death.
According to reports, her condition deteriorated sharply on Monday.
Haru Urara died from colic, surrounded by farm staff where she spent her retirement.
The popularity of Haru Urara was so great that she became a key figure in the anime game Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
The creators of the game wrote on X:
“With heavy hearts, we announce that Haru Urara passed away on September 9. The legendary breed inspired the creation of a character with the same name in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. We express our condolences to everyone who cared for Haru Urara.”
Yuko Miyahara, one of the horse's caretakers at the farm in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, said:
“Recently, more and more people have been coming to see Haru Urara, not just from Japan but from overseas as well. It is truly sad.”
