Impressions after practice
The 40-year-old Brit avoided collisions with barriers but encountered problems during practice, locking up his wheels. He spun out again during the second practice, seemingly catching the grass on the turn.
The Formula 1 legend was disheartened after the Hungarian Grand Prix, calling himself 'absolutely helpless' and urging Ferrari to 'change the driver' after finishing in 12th place. However, he noted that after the summer break, he feels rejuvenated and wants to start 'enjoying' racing in Formula 1 again.
During the holiday, Hamilton spent time with family, friends, and his beloved dog Roscoe, engaging in training and meditation. He spent his weekends on the coast, visiting Capri, Positano, and Mauri on the Amalfi coast.
In addition, Hamilton spent part of his time in the Monte Pora mountains in northern Italy, where he took several photos of Roscoe for the famous magazine Vogue about dogs 'Dogue.'
‘Probably the most important part because that’s what got me started in this sport. It’s been a joy for me. In any career, if you’re not having fun doing what you do, then why do it?’
‘I really want to focus on getting back to that fun. I’ve joined the team I’ve always dreamed of.’
Accidents on the track
Lance Stroll had a serious accident at the start of the second practice, locking his brake before the curb and damaging the right side of his car. The crash looked so dramatic that even Max Verstappen asked on the radio if everything was alright with the Canadian driver.
Alex Albon also crashed in the second session, colliding with the barriers and breaking the front wing, causing a red flag. Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli had an accident during the first session, going off track, finishing the second session in a disappointing 12th place.
Even Verstappen made a mistake in a rare slip-up at his home race, going into the first corner and getting stuck in the gravel.
The Dutch Grand Prix was a test not only for Hamilton but for other drivers who encountered accidents. The winning event will bring new challenges and opportunities for all participants, making the racing series even more exciting. Drivers continue to prepare for the responsible competition that awaits ahead.
