Lidl's plans for implementing new technologies
According to The Sun: The discount retailer Lidl plans to introduce self-service devices that will help reduce customers' waiting time at the checkout. The company has applied for the trademark 'Lidl & Go' in Europe and the UK for new digital payment systems.
According to The Grocer, the innovation includes electronic terminals that operate by the customers themselves. Lidl emphasized:
“We aim to make shopping even more convenient for our customers.”
This step will be an important milestone in the development of self-service in retail. Implementing new technologies will not only reduce queues but also improve the overall shopping experience for visitors to Lidl stores.
