As a result of an explosion in the residential complex 'Scarlet Sails' in Moscow, Arman Sargsyan, who was an employee and close associate of the fugitive Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych, was killed. His death occurred two weeks after he was placed on international wanted lists for organizing murders in the center of Kyiv during the Revolution of Dignity.

Arman Sargsyan was also responsible for the armed conflict in Donbas, where he was the head of the organization 'Almaz', which supplied weapons to terrorists in eastern Ukraine. He received orders from the FSB and led the combat group 'ArBAT'. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Sargsyan's group committed the murder of journalist Vyacheslav Veremiya.
