Place of Birth. Education. Armen Sarkissian was born on June 23, 1953, in Yerevan, Armenia.
In 1976, he graduated from Yerevan State University. Candidate of physical and mathematical sciences.

From 1976-1978 - PhD student at Yerevan State University.
Career. From 1979 to 1984, he worked as an assistant at the Department of Physics at Yerevan State University.
1984-1985 - Visiting lecturer at the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom).
From 1985 to 1992, he taught theoretical physics at Yerevan State University.
From 1990 to 1992, he headed the Department of Complex Technologies and Computer Modeling at Yerevan State University.
Political Career. From 1992-1993, he was Armenia's Chargé d'Affaires in the United Kingdom.
1993-1994 - Ambassador of Armenia to Europe and the European Union.
1995-1996 - Ambassador of Armenia to the Kingdom of Belgium, head of the Armenian European Catholic Society, Ambassador of Armenia to the Vatican, Ambassador of Armenia to Luxembourg.
1996-1997 - Prime Minister of Armenia.
1998-2000 - Armenia's Chargé d'Affaires in the United Kingdom.
Since 2013, a member of the Board of Dilijan International School.
Member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies and the Royal Astronomical Society. Honorary member of the All-Armenian Academic and Scientific Society. Candidate of physical and mathematical sciences.
Recommended by Serge Sargsyan as a presidential candidate of the Republic of Armenia.
On March 2, 2018, Armen Sarkissian was appointed the newly elected President of Armenia: 90 out of 105 parliamentarians voted for him, 10 were against. He became the first president of the country elected by the parliament rather than by general elections.
On January 23, 2022, Armen Sarkissian announced that he was resigning from his position as president.
Scientific Publications. 51 scientific articles and 3 textbooks on (political, theoretical physics, astrophysics, and computer modeling).
Awards. Awarded the Order of 'For Services to the Fatherland' 1st class (15.09.2017).
