Why Pressuring the US Could Save Ukraine, According to a Lithuanian Lawmaker.
Žygimantas Pavilionis Weighs In on Russian Aggression
According to Espreso.tv: Žygimantas Pavilionis, head of UNITED4UKRAINE and deputy chair of the Lithuanian parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, has shared his perspective on Russia’s aggression and its societal impact. He argues that pushing the United States to supply weapons to Ukraine is essential to counter this threat. As a key voice in Lithuania’s political landscape, Pavilionis frequently advocates for stronger Western involvement in the conflict.
Pavilionis stressed that Russia’s aggressive moves only serve to unite society against it, stating:
“The more Russia provokes and attacks, the more it consolidates our society” – Žygimantas Pavilionis.
He emphasized the need to defeat the Russian empire, which he believes would weaken Vladimir Putin’s grip on power. Pavilionis added:
“We must defeat the Russian empire so that Putin chokes on that power” – Žygimantas Pavilionis.
The Lithuanian politician insists that applying pressure on Americans is critical to enforcing sanctions capable of crippling Russia. He urged: “So, let’s keep pushing and convince the Americans that they must do this, to enforce the sanctions that will destroy the Russian Federation.”
International Dynamics
Pavilionis also noted that Russia is reverting to earlier negotiation frameworks known as the ‘28 points,’ signaling that tensions remain high and that international actions could prove decisive in shaping future events.
His remarks underscore the vital role of global backing for Ukraine in its resistance to Russian aggression. With his call for intensified pressure on the US, it appears Lithuania aims to ramp up worldwide efforts to secure military and economic aid for Ukraine. The mention of the ‘28 points’ may indicate Russia is exploring new avenues to resolve the conflict, yet Lithuania’s firm stance shows that Baltic nations stay resolute in supporting Ukraine and countering Russian influence in the region.
