Liverpool backs out of the transfer of Guehi in January: the club's new position.

Transfer Negotiations
Negotiations for the English defender’s move to Liverpool collapsed on transfer deadline day, despite both clubs reaching a preliminary agreement, and Guehi having already undergone a medical.
SunSport reports that the deal fell through as Crystal Palace, attempting to sign Joe Gomez from Liverpool as part of the deal, failed to find an adequate replacement for their captain.
Although Liverpool is still interested in the 25-year-old former Chelsea defender, they reportedly DO NOT plan to pursue this deal in January.
The club believes that signing Guehi in the summer, when he becomes a free agent, will be a more beneficial decision.
However, if Liverpool decides to wait, they will have to compete with other clubs that are also showing interest in the defender.
In particular, Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly interested in Guehi.
Details of the Failed Transfer of Guehi to Liverpool
Oliver Glasner won his battle with Steve Parish for Marc Guehi.
The most successful manager in Crystal Palace's history firmly stated that he did not want to lose his captain at this stage of the transfer window.
Glasner clearly indicated his desire for Guehi to stay after the victory over Aston Villa.
The club feared that he might even resign if the defender was sold.
Considering the FA Cup victory in May and the success over Liverpool in the Community Shield, it is a wonderful moment for Glasner to show his strength.
It is worth noting that Palace also tried to get money for Guehi, who may leave for free in a year.

The prospect of playing for one of the European giants may be more appealing to Guehi than staying in the Premier League with Liverpool.
Neither Guehi nor Crystal Palace have commented on his failed move to Liverpool.
