Defender Paquetá won the case against the FA: What the West Ham star was accused of.
Lucas Paquetá and West Ham may file a lawsuit against the FA
According to The Sun: Lucas Paquetá and West Ham are seriously considering filing a lawsuit against the Football Association (FA) over betting allegations that threaten the Brazilian's career.
The FA investigation launched in August 2023 prevented Paquetá's move to Manchester City for 80 million pounds.

As a result, he was unable to become part of Pep Guardiola's team, which won the Premier League that season.
It turned out that the FA's investigators initiated a case against Paquetá without any direct evidence, prompting his legal team along with West Ham to consider a potential multi-million-pound lawsuit against the FA.
The final decision of a three-member committee, which dismissed four main accusations against Paquetá, noted that the FA relied on the suspicions of its internal expert, whose claims were refuted by David Moyes and former referee Mark Clattenburg. The committee also highlighted an "obvious lack" of independence in the investigation.
It is worth noting that the FA investigation, which spanned over 300 pages, debunked the accusations against the Brazilian, who was suspected of providing information to friends and relatives prior to receiving four yellow cards in Premier League matches in 2022 and 2023.
“I feel absolutely broken by what I have had to go through. I have been living in a nightmare for two years,” Paquetá said.
The commission, chaired by former judge Phillip Sycamore, confirmed that the red flag system was activated by the International Betting Integrity Association in March 2023 due to "unusual betting activity" surrounding Paquetá's yellow card in a match against Aston Villa.
Similar signals were also recorded during his warning against Leeds in May and against Bournemouth at the beginning of the next season, as well as reports of "suspicious" patterns regarding his warnings against Leicester in November 2022.
The FA claimed to have identified 253 individual bettors, including 26 who were allegedly connected to Paquetá, with a total stake of 47 thousand pounds and winnings of 167 thousand pounds.
Following interviews and allegations in September 2023, he was accused of deleting messages from both phones, while FA representatives claimed that other messages indicated his knowledge of the bets.
Additionally, the FA operated on data from analyst Jake Johnson of Stats Perform, which was supposed to support their findings that Paquetá's warnings were intentional.
“This case shows that Lucas had to put in significant effort to prove his innocence,” added his legal representative Campbell.
As a result, the commission noted that there was no direct evidence in this case that the player communicated with any players regarding fixing or betting.
The FA confirmed that it would not appeal this decision, although a representative of the organization added: “The FA is committed to maintaining the integrity of football and will always conduct thorough and complete investigations of serious allegations.”
Thus, the decision made clearly confirmed Paquetá's vindication, and his reputation as a player and a person remained beyond doubt.
