Luke Littler celebrates victory at the World Grand Prix: how the opponent reacted.
Luke Littler's Victory at the World Grand Prix
According to The Sun: Luke Littler received congratulations from his opponent Luke Humphries after a confident victory at the World Grand Prix on Sunday.
The 18-year-old athlete won with a score of 6-1 in the final of the tournament, marking an important milestone in his career.
GettyThis victory was Littler's first in the World Grand Prix, and he shared his impressions:
“I am very happy that I managed to do it.”
“This tournament is very difficult to win. This week was tough, but now that I hold the trophy, I can celebrate another victory. There are not many left,” he added.
Littler also posted pictures from the final on social media, writing:
“I am very happy with my game this week, all the hard work paid off. Champion of the World Grand Prix,”
In turn, Humphries congratulated him in the comments under the Instagram post, noting:
“Great job, mate! Fantastic game.”
After losing in the final, Humphries admitted:
“It was one of those games.”
“He played very confidently in the first four sets. Double 16 had been my friend for the last three years, but today it let me down – very unfortunately,” he noted.
“When I was down 4-0, I just wanted to show something to the crowd. I was playing not just for myself, but for them, as the game was out of control.”
“It's hard to take. It's disappointing because I felt I could show him better,” Humphries added.
Littler's Future Plans
Littler surprised fans by announcing that he would participate in the youth world championship qualifiers on Monday. He noted:
“I will go to the World Youth tomorrow, see everyone, and rest.”
“I don’t think I will have many friends there tomorrow, but it’s only 20 minutes drive from me, and I will try to show everything I can. I could rest, but why not?”
“I will mention that after the World Youth, I will have two ProTours in Wigan, and then – free weekends,” Littler added.
Littler won the PDC Youth World Championship in 2023, after which he achieved success at the world darts championship the following month, although he missed the competition last year.
After a successful victory at the World Grand Prix, Littler will continue to compete actively, taking every opportunity for self-improvement. His upcoming performances in youth competitions and ProTours show that he is serious and seeks to maintain a high level of play. We will follow his further achievements and performances in upcoming tournaments.Read also
