Raymond van Barneveld on Gaming Psychology: Why Modern Players Are No Longer Afraid of Top Opponents.
According to The Sun: Raymond van Barneveld believes that modern darts players are no longer afraid of facing renowned opponents. Barney, who is 58 years old, may not have as much experience as Singaporean veteran Paul Lim, who is already celebrating his 71st birthday, but he hopes to remain in competition for at least another two years at Ally Pally.
“I know that there are many people behind me, and I want to continue playing,” says Barneveld.
He also noted that the new generation of players shows a high level of play and is not afraid to compete with the best in the world.
Barneveld's words highlight the changes that have occurred in the world of darts — modern players are significantly more confident and ready to step onto the big stage with assurance. This may be an indication that darts is becoming an increasingly popular sport, attracting new talents and audiences.
