Luke Littler responded to the sexist comment after his defeat
According to The Sun: Luke Littler, the reigning world champion who just celebrated his 18th birthday, unexpectedly took part in the youth world championship in Wigan, just a day after winning the World Grand Prix in Leicester.
GettyIn this championship, Littler lost to world champion Beo Grieves 6-5 after a tense match with Charlie Manby.
After the match, one Instagram user sent Littler a comment:
“We don’t need this. Women should not compete against men, no matter how good they are.”
Littler did not let this go unanswered:
“Are you drunk?”
21-year-old Grieves recently received a tour card that will allow her to compete against the best players in the sport in the future.
Joking, Littler added:
“Just don’t take that tour card!”
He also praised Grieves' talents:
“I had two rounds of 10 darts, I missed D12 for nine and still couldn’t win.”
“Congratulations Beo Grieves, wishing you all the best in Minehead, you are a huge talent.”
Grieves will meet Giaan van Veen in the final in Minehead on November 23.

Current world number one Luke Humphries also noted Grieves' professionalism.
He said:
“I think she is an amazing player and deserves this. I predict she will thrive in her career.”
Humphries emphasized that Grieves has already achieved significant success on other tours this year:
“She is good at challenges, in development, and will become a serious threat to all players in the future.”
Not losing optimism, he added:
“If she stays relaxed and under no pressure, I believe she will make it to the top 64 within two years.”
This event highlights Beo Grieves' growing status in the world of darts, where women are increasingly participating and demonstrating a high level of skill. Both players showcased a true spirit of competition and support for each other, which is a positive sign for sports fans hoping for further integration of women in darts. The competition in Minehead promises to be impressive, and the fight for the title – thrilling.
