Darts player Luke Littler earned a million pounds in a year: how he did it.
Luke Littler's Financial Success
According to The Sun: World darts champion Luke Littler astonished everyone by having £1 million in his sporting business accounts.
His team recently submitted financial documents to Companies House, indicating significant profits over the past year.
GettyAccording to the annual financial reports of Luke Littler Darts Ltd for 2024, cash on the accounts amounts to £1,074,971. Meanwhile, he has creditors totaling £383,329, a large portion of which will likely go towards taxes.
The forecast for 2025 promises even higher financial achievements as Luke has opened his own store and is actively earning from selling his merchandise.
Luke's New Business
The athlete earns significant income from fans purchasing his sports equipment, hoodies, dart sets, t-shirts for £17, as well as signed photos for £200.
Luke has just launched his online store 'The Nuke Merchandise Shop' and created a separate company to manage the revenue from his merchandise.
The ambitious teenager has also founded a real estate company and applied for a trademark of his name in the USA.
However, his attempt to become well-known there has not yet been successful.
He has now been given six months to address deficiencies following receiving a 'full refusal' regarding his application.
Luke failed to provide a correct email address, verify his identity, or appoint a legal team in the USA to accompany the application.
Additionally, he needs to clarify the categories of goods he wants to sell under his name.
Luke received a notification: 'Notice of Provisional Full Refusal. The USPTO must receive applicant’s response within six months of the date on which the notification was sent.'
This important matter will help protect him from counterfeiters who might exploit his popularity. In the UK, his rights already have appropriate protection.
Experts believe that 'the trademark legally protects the brand, separating its goods or services from those of others.'
Crisis at the Championship
Luke, now 18, earned £200,000 in prize money for reaching the final of the 2024 World Darts Championship, where he lost to world number one, Luke Humphries, 7-4 in Alexandria.
ReutersHe is currently the reigning world champion, having claimed the trophy in January.
Luke Littler's financial successes highlight his growing popularity and talent in the world of darts. Despite some difficulties with business documentation in the USA, hopes for the further development of his brand remain high, as the number of fans of darts is growing in Ukraine and beyond. His business efforts may play a key role in popularizing this sport both in Ukraine and abroad.
