Invista closes factory in the UK: 125 people may lose their jobs.
Closure of production in Gloucester
According to The Sun: The American company that supplies auto parts plans to close its factory in Gloucester. This decision could lead to the dismissal of 125 workers, as production processes may be shifted to Canada and China.
Invista, a manufacturer of synthetic textile materials owned by Koch Industries, has confirmed that up to 125 jobs are at risk due to the consideration of various options.
“We are always evaluating our activities and looking for ways to optimize them,” the company stated.
The decision to close the factory is driven by the need to reduce costs and adapt to new market conditions. If this becomes a reality, workers will be left without jobs, and the region may experience negative consequences from the manufacturing shutdown. At the same time, the relocation of production to other countries may indicate the globalization of the industry and the search for more efficient ways of conducting business.
