According to The Sun: Fans of festive cookies rushed to Asda when the supermarket introduced its own version of the popular ginger and white chocolate cookies from M&S ahead of the holiday season.

These cookies are already available in Asda Bakery, packaged in sets of five soft cookies, spiced with warming ginger and filled with pieces of white chocolate.

The price of Asda's cookies is £1.23, while similar cookies from M&S, which are also sold in packs of five, cost £3.25, meaning Asda offers them for more than 60% cheaper.

One shopper shared their discovery on the Facebook page Newfoodsuk after visiting Asda.

Other users reacted positively to the post.

“These cookies are simply amazing and very soft.”

Some tagged their friends, urging them to try the new cookies and compare them to the well-known M&S cookies.

Asda's festival also caught the attention of one of the snack review Instagram accounts, which has over 44 thousand followers.

One user commented on the Instagram post: “Asda is winning the holiday game.”

Another user wrote: “I’m running to Asda!”.

Asda's Festive Treats

Asda's range of festive treats also includes ginger tarts, sweet ginger buns, mini 'snow road' bits, and mini special flapjacks.

Earlier, shoppers expressed excitement when M&S brought back their legendary ginger and white chocolate cookies to the supermarket's festive lineup for 2025.

SAVINGS AT ASDA

Buying these festive treats is just one way to save on Christmas shopping at Asda.

Asda ranks under Aldi and Lidl in the Which? list as one of the cheapest supermarkets.

In August, the average cost of a basket of 75 items at Asda was £139.42 – cheaper than competitors like Tesco, Sainsbury's, and Morrisons.

How to Save on Chocolate

We all love chocolate, but you don't need to spend a lot of money on your favorite product.

Buy store brand – if you are not concerned about taste, but just want to satisfy your hunger, you can save by choosing supermarket own-brand products.

Compare prices – if you found your favorite product at one supermarket, check if it's cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk allow you to compare prices across all major chains to ensure that you are getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow labels – supermarket staff place yellow, and sometimes orange and red labels, to indicate that a product is discounted.

They are usually placed when the product is near its expiration date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy larger packs – usually, chocolate is cheaper per 100 g when you buy larger packs.

So, if you're not afraid of a large size, and you plan to buy a large quantity of chocolate, you can save by choosing the large format.

Given the increasing popularity of Asda's cookies, it can be expected that the supermarket will continue to expand its range of festive treats in the future. It is also important to pay attention to savings opportunities, especially during the holiday season when expenses typically rise. Asda opens up shopping opportunities by offering its customers quality products at attractive prices.
