Changes in the African Cup of Nations
According to The Sun: The directors of English Premier League clubs received pleasant news: the African Cup of Nations will transition to a four-year cycle starting in 2028. The competition will feature 32 players from the English top league, with the first match taking place on Sunday when Morocco hosts the Comoros Islands.
Statement from the CAF President
The President of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe, announced:
“The Afcon in 2027 will take place in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania”
The transition to a four-year cycle could be an important step for the development of football in the region, as it will significantly improve the organization of competitions and attract new players to the football culture of Africa. Moreover, according to experts, this could increase interest in the African Cup of Nations on the international stage.
