Upcoming Meeting of the 'Coalition of the Willing'

According to UATV: French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that the 'coalition of the willing' will gather in Paris on July 13–14. This meeting is designed to address strategies for supporting Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia. Additionally, Macron plans to hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in early June.

The 'coalition of the willing' session will serve as a key forum for discussing next steps in backing Ukraine, especially given the current security challenges across Europe. In this context, Macron stressed the significance of direct dialogue between Ukraine and Russia.

“We have always advocated for direct negotiations between Ukraine and the Kremlin. I want to make this clear: I believe that today, only Ukraine and Russia can forge both a ceasefire agreement and a peace plan.”

Macron also emphasized that Europeans must take an active role in these negotiations, as they are key contributors to Ukraine's military efforts. “It is the Europeans who should currently be at the negotiating table for a peace plan, because this concerns the architecture of peace and security for Europeans,” the French president added.

EU-Western Balkans Summit

A significant international event is also the EU-Western Balkans summit taking place in Montenegro, highlighting growing attention to regional security and cooperation.

The Paris meeting of the 'coalition of the willing' underscores European nations' efforts to support Ukraine in the face of prolonged Russian aggression. The direct talks proposed by Macron could become a crucial step toward a peaceful resolution, which in turn would impact stability across Europe.

Meanwhile, the EU-Western Balkans summit reflects that European countries are also focusing on regional security, which may have long-term implications for the political landscape in that area.
